Early in 2011, Brand Bureau was advised by Dongwha Timbers that construction was poised to commence on the Company’s $74 million sawmill expansion in south-east New South Wales. Community and other stakeholder support was paramount to the success of the project.
Brand Bureau was engaged to produce, a Strategic Communication Plan, with the primary objective of ensuring all stakeholders to the project (the community, employees, the media, MPs, suppliers and so on) were engaged and positive about the project - before, during and after construction.
Dongwha Timbers then asked us to bring the Communication Plan to life - to implement a range of integrated marketing and communication initiatives for the duration of the project. These activities included:
a major groundbreaking event
social media updates
organisational culture and communication activities.
Bart Crawley, Managing Director of Dongwha Timbers, said:
“We have now come to the end of the first leg of our journey as we transition to the Operational Stage of our brand new timber manufacturing facility. Through the development of a clear and detailed Communication Plan and Brand Bureau’s continuous drive for excellence, together we have achieved the desired outcomes evident by ever-strengthening support received from the Dongwha Timbers team and the people of Bombala".
It became evident early in the project to upgrade our timber manufacturing facility at Sandy Lane Bombala that strong links to the community were critical for its success. Having little or no experience with both a project of the magnitude ($74million upgrade) and the communication tools needed to build the relationships, we approached Kylie and the team at Brand Bureau to steer us in the right direction. I pass on my sincere thanks to all the team at Brand Bureau and look forward to our continued partnership in the future.
